Arrived in Sofia. We got accommodation with a view over the beautiful historical center, which was very nice as we sat on the balcony gazing at the city every morning and evening.

Visited the city with its old buildings and churces. It feels very livable.

Rented a car and went in the mountains for a bit of fresh air! Spend the night there!

Took the gondola. It goes up at around 2500 altitude! It's the point of departure to the talles mountain in entire Balkan Peninsula, with 2925 m altitude. The hike takes a whole day (for the experienced ones).

From there we headed to our next destination.

Got here in the afternoon, we took a walk on the main street of the city.

Visited the old part of the town, situated on three hills and Fortress Tsarevets. Veliko is one of the most beautiful mediaval towns in the Balkans.

Visit the small city and the famous nearby caves and canyon!

Bulgarian Holiday

On our first full day, we checked the main attractions in Taipei.

Starting with Elephant Mountain. It's a popular hiking trail with walking paths and stairs. At the end of the short hike, it's a super nice panoramic view of Taipei from the peak.

Then we checked another famous spot on the city, Taipei 101. It's the fastest elevator in the world and it takes you to Taipei 101 Observatory - incredible views of Taipei, but totally different from the one from Elephant Mountain.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is the city’s most impressive historical landmark. It was built in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China.

Checked Liberty Square, public plaza, and the view from the Liberty Square Arch.

At the end of the day, we went to Beitou Hot Spring Museum. The museum is housed in public hot spring bath built during the Japanese colonial era.

Today we checked Taipei's cool neighborhoods and experiences.

Starting from Longshan Temple, Taipei’s most famous temple.

North Gate Square is a historic gate to Taipei City. Still looks like it did in the Qing Dynasty.

Then we took the Dihua Street, which is known as the oldest street in Taipei.

Ximen is a cool neighbourhood of Taipei, it's pedestrian-only and has a high concentration of hip, funky and weird things going on. It's a popular place to hangout for young people living in Taipei.

Taipei is known for its night markets with local food. Shilin Night Market is the biggest, but Raohe Night Market is more manageable.

Took the train to Shifen Waterfall. It'a a wonderful waterfall on Keelung River.

Took the bus to Jiufen. It's a beautiful mountain town. It's known for its former gold mining transformed into popular market street now.

Not far from Jiufen, Jinguashi is the site of one of the original gold mines in Japanese era. You can visit Museum of Gold here and Golden Waterfall, but beware that the water in the waterfall still carries remnants of harmful minerals.

Keelung Night Market is one of the best night markets in all of Taiwan.

Arrived at the beautiful Sun Moon Lake. There's a cable car that takes tourists up on the mountain, where you can witnessed  beautiful view over the lake.

We visited Wenwu Temple, on the north part of the lake. It's a Chinese-style Taoist temple.

Then went to Ita Thao Village, a village on the east part of the lake, home to the Thao aboriginal tribe.

Our final destination in Taiwan and most beautiful one was Alishan National Scenic Area. It's the country’s top mountain resort. It's here you can enjoy the cherry blosson at its best, beautiful cypress trees and admire the cloud-ringed peaks of Alishan Mountains.

One Week in Taiwan

We arrived late in Seoul, South Korea. It looked pretty overwhelming with all those skyscrapers and super busy streets.

First full day in Seoul and in South Korea. Started exploring around.

Visited Changdeokgung Palace, one of the Five Grand Palaces built by Joseon Dynasty kings. It is considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Seoul thanks to its garden and natural surroundings.

Stopped to eat at Namdaemun Market, Korea’s largest market. They say it's one of the best places to eat in Seoul.

Gwangjang Market is one of the oldest traditional Korean markets in the city

Of course we wanted to check the incredible view at the immensity of the city from N Seoul Tower, a 236-metre tower. It's indeed breathtaking.

One of the most interesting corners of the city is Bukchon Hanok Village, a village dating from 14th century with narrow streets and restored traditional homes. I declared it one of my favourite spots of Seoul.

Moved a bit to the south, in Suwon. Suwon is best known for the medieval fortress called Hwaseong Fortress. 

After visiting Hwaseong Fortress, we went to Korean Folk Village. It's a beautiful place that contains numerous traditional houses from the countryside. A series of Korean movies were filmed within the village.

We visited a folk village in Adong as well, Andong Hahoe Folk Village. The traditional houses at Hahoe Folk Village date back from 16th century.

At Soju Museum, we found out how Korea’s national alcohol is made. Also tried some. :D

Bongjeongsa Temple is a beautiful Korean Buddhist wooden temple complex dating back to 672 AD. It lies in a beautiful landscape, at the foot of the Cheondeung Mountain and surrounded by forest.

We moved to beautiful coastal city og Gyeongju.

Tumuli Park - in the middle of the city - an ancient burial site. The tombs are covered by green mounds. One tomb is open to public.

one of the country’s most famous landmarks. The temple sits among pine forests and mountains.

Part of Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto is Buddhist cave temple. It is classified as National Treasure by South Korean Government.

South Korea Trip

Explore the iconic Shibuya Crossing and the surrounding area.

Visit the historic Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa and browse the Nakamise shopping street.

Wander around Harajuku, checking out Takeshita Street and its trendy shops.

End the day in Shinjuku, where you can enjoy dinner and explore the lively entertainment district.

Start your day with panoramic views from Tokyo Tower. 

Visit the serene Meiji Shrine and take a stroll through Yoyogi Park.

Explore Akihabara's electronics and anime merchandise.

Head to Ginza in the evening for upscale shopping and dining.

Explore the famous torii gate pathway at Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Wander through the historic Gion district and possibly spot a geisha.

Enjoy a traditional kaiseki dinner in Kyoto.

Visit the stunning Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) in the morning.

Explore the Zen garden at Ryoan-ji Temple.

In the afternoon, visit the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Tenryu-ji Temple.

Relax with an evening stroll along the Kamo River or visit a local tea house for a tea ceremony.

Take a day trip to Nara, starting with the impressive Todai-ji Temple and its Great Buddha statue.

Explore the charming streets of Naramachi.

Return to Kyoto in the evening for dinner at a local restaurant.

Explore Osaka Castle and its surrounding park.

In the afternoon, visit Dotonbori for street food and entertainment.

Experience Osaka's vibrant nightlife in the Namba district. 

Start your day with a visit to the Peace Memorial Park and Museum.

See the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Children's Peace Monument.

In the afternoon, take a ferry to Miyajima Island to see Itsukushima Shrine and its floating torii gate.

Enjoy local cuisine on Miyajima Island, including oysters and momiji manju (maple leaf-shaped cakes).

Spend your final day shopping for souvenirs in Omotesando or Takeshita Street in Harajuku.

Enjoy a farewell dinner or explore any remaining neighborhoods before departure.

Our 8-Day Japan Adventure

We spent one week on the beautiful area of Colombia's northern coast. We arrived in Cartagena, the picturesque colonial city on the Caribbean Sea. We explored the fairy-tale Cartagena's Old Town, took a walk on the narrow winding streets of the city circled by walls. Nice colourful houses and beautiful squares.

Today we took a proper tour of this beautiful city.

We visited the Palace of Inquisition, one of the finest buildings in the city, which used to serve as the house of Inquisition. Now it is an open museum displaying instruments of torture used in the past by the inquisitors, but only.

In our tour, we also visited Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, which is the greatest fortress ever built by the Spaniards.

The beautiful Church of Santo Domingo is the oldest church in the city.

We walked on Walls of Cartagena, one of the most important attractions of Cartagena and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can admire from there panoramic views of the city.

We checked one of the most famous restaurants in the city, La Vitrola. It is actually in an building, a 400 year old colonial home.

And ended the day in one of the rooftop bars, enjoying a good mojito.

From beautiful and colourful Cartagena, we left for a greener experience.

We left towards Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona which is situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. 

Today we took a tour of Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona. We booked a guided tour to explore South America's lovely coastline from the rainforests of Tayrona to the spectacular beaches. The tour started with with a hike in the tropical hills near Cañaveral, the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains and got us to the beautiful beaches of Arrecifes.

One of the nicest spots of the tour in Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona was Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona, superb bay surrounded by massive volcanic rocks.

Minca is a wonderful mountain village located in the scenic Colombian hillside. Minca is known for its coffee farms. After we explored the village of Minca a bit, we took a guided tour of the area's organic coffee farms.

In the afternoon, we went to Pozo Azul, a natural swimming pool hole for a refreshing time.

We transfered back to Cartagena. Had a relaxed afternoon in the city.

The last day was dedicated to Rosario Islands. We took a day trip to this enchantic spot in Colombia. 

On the way to Rosario Islands, we saw Tierra Bomba Island and Boca Chica, an ancient fort that used to protect Cartagena. 

Rosario Islands is a beautiful archipelago located off the coast of Colombia. It is one of the 46 Natural National Parks of Colombia. Once there, we headed to Playa Azul, a gorgeous white sand beach on the turquoise Caribbean Sea.
