Our 10-Day Southeast Asian Journey

Flight to Thessaloniki, Greece’s second largest city. Thessaloniki receives many European flights, it's a good starting point for travelling in Northern Greece.

Thessaloniki is not necessarily a beautiful city for its sightseeings, but it's an amazing place for food, drinks and witness breathtaking sunsets. There are plenty of places to eat. Everywhere I tasted, the food was simply delicious.

Nevertheless, there are things to see as well in the Thessaloniki. We took a walk to check a few of them, like White Tower of Thessaloniki, probably the most famous landmark in the city. Nowdays a museum, but it used to serve as many things in time, including a prison.

Arch of Galerius is a Roman style arch located in middle of town. It gives a bit of that ancient feel like in Athens.

The church Hagia Sophia of Thessaloniki was modeled after the original Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. It was restored in the last 1900’s after a fire.

Thessaloniki Waterfront is a beautiful street by the water with generous sidewalk. Plenty of trendy bars and restaurants on the way.

Today we rented a car and headed away from the city of Thessaloniki.

But before that we wanted to check a local market. Kapani Market is the local bazaar style market of Thessaloniki.

Took the car and drove to Meteora to visit the fabulous monasteries perched on mountains. Meteora is probably the most visited spot on Northern Greece as the scenery is simply spectacular.

There are six monasteries in Meteora. All of them are open to the public but each monastery closes on one day of the week, different day each other. On weekends it's easier to visit them all in one day, they are all open. Simply drive from one to another.

Our first monastery was Great Meteoron. It's the largest monastery and there is a lot to explore. There are also museums and art gallery at the spot.

The next one was Holy Trinity. You have to climb many stairs to get to the top, but at the end it's a great great view from the top. You can climb on the rocks for a view even more spectacular. Breathtaking scenery.

Our last monastery visited for the day was Varlaam, which is the second largest monastery. It is considered one of the nicest. It also has a museum about the history of Meteora.

We checked out and went to see the other monasteries today.

Roussanou is a nunnery. It's very pretty and it also has some nice gardens.

It was the last monastery visited. It's actually the smallest one and maybe the least spectacular, but still nice. We did not visit St. Stephen’s Monastery from the six in Meteora.

We headed then towards Zagori Mountains. But first we stopped in Metsovo. It's a picturesque little village in Northern Greece. We had something to eat and walked the beautiful streets of the town for an hour.

At the end of the day, we arrived in Papigo village. Spent the night here.

We visited Papigo. It's a beautiful small mountain village like are many in this part of Greece. It's charming with its cobblestone square, stoned alleys and Zagorian architecture houses. And the mountains "behind" provide a really beautiful scenery.

We had lunch at Astra Inn, ah, very beautiful and shadowy place to eat.

We then drove to see the famous stone bridges in Epirus region of Greece. There are many in the area, we visited a few. Kokkoros is one of the nicest.

The bridges were constructed long ago to enable the crossing of people and horses over the freezing rivers of the area.

We stopped for lunch at Lithos Restaurant, super delicious food.

Another main attractions in Northern Greece is the Vikos Gorge. It’s the second most deep canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon. Absolutely stunning views with the tall vertical walls that end in the valley below. It's a place for hikers as well here.

Oxya Viewpoint is a great spot for a panoramic view over the gorge. There several around, but this one is also accesible by car.

We then drove towards Lefkada for a few days at the beach. The island is accesbible by car, no need for ferry, there's a bridge that connects it with the mainland.

We wanted to enjoy the last days of our holiday on the beaches, so we just moved from one beautiful beach to another.

In the afternoon we moved to Egremni Beach. It's a white pebbly beach with cliff behind and the water is perfectly blue. 

On the last full day here we went to Mylos Beach. To reach it,  you mush hike a bit from Agias Nikitas Town. It's a stunning beach, we totally enjoed our time there.

We also checked Megali Petra Beach (it means "big rock"). It's one of the quieter beaches of Lefkada and it's surrounded by greenery and dramatic cliffs.

 Northern Greece Road Trip

Arrive in Bali and transfer to your hotel in Seminyak. Spend the day relaxing on Seminyak Beach, exploring the local area, and enjoying a beautiful sunset. Dine at a local restaurant in the evening.

Explore Seminyak, visiting Petitenget Temple and browsing Seminyak Square.

Later, head to Canggu for some surfing or relaxation at a beach club like Finns. End the day with dinner and drinks in Canggu or Seminyak.

Travel to Ubud and start your day by visiting the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, home to hundreds of playful monkeys.


Continue to Ubud Palace, a historical building that showcases Balinese architecture and cultural heritage.

Browse the Ubud Art Market for unique souvenirs, including handmade crafts, clothing, and jewelry.

Enjoy a traditional Balinese dance performance before settling in for the night.

Embark on a sunrise trek to Mount Batur, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding area.



After the trek, relax in the natural hot springs at the base of Mount Batur to soothe your muscles.



Return to Ubud and unwind for the rest of the day, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the area.



Explore Besakih Temple, known as Bali's "Mother Temple" and the largest and holiest temple on the island.

Visit the Tirta Gangga Water Palace, a former royal palace with beautiful water gardens and fountains.

End the day at Taman Ujung Water Palace, another serene spot with scenic views of the mountains and ocean. Stay overnight in Amed or Candidasa.

Spend the day in Amed, snorkeling or diving in the area's crystal-clear waters, which are home to vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Relax on the beach and enjoy fresh seafood in the evening.

Take a fast boat to Nusa Penida and visit Kelingking Beach, where you can take in the dramatic cliffside views.

Explore Broken Beach, a picturesque cove with a natural rock archway over the water.

Visit Angel's Billabong, a natural infinity pool with stunning ocean views. Return to Bali in the evening and stay in Sanur or Kuta.


Visit Uluwatu Temple, perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and explore the surrounding area.

Spend the day relaxing at Padang Padang Beach, a popular spot for sunbathing and swimming.

End the day at Bingin Beach, where you can unwind and watch the sunset.

In the evening, watch the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple and dine at a seafood restaurant in Jimbaran Bay.

Spend your final day in Bali relaxing, shopping for souvenirs, or enjoying the last bit of sun before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.

Our 10-Day Bali Adventure

Visited Plaza de Mayo neighbourhood, the political and historical heart of the city.

Visited Boca neighbourhood, the oldest part of BA.

Visited San Telmo, neighborhood with cobblestone streets, antique shops and little bistros on narrow streets and sunny plazas.

Recoleta Cemetery - one of the attractions in the city.

In the North of the country, the desertic area. Stayed in the area for 4 days.

Visited Iguazu Falls, absolutelly spectacular.

Argentina Itinerary

Arrived in San Jose. Had enough time to visit around the city center: Costa Rica National Theatre, Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and Costa Rica’s Jade Museum

From the capital, we rented a car and headed to Orosi Valley through green hills and lush vegetation, along the Reventazón River. Very beautiful landscape.

We chose to spent the night at Finca Queveri. It's a super beautiful view from there and we had nice local experience.

Headed to Tortuguero, village on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, part of Tortuguero National Park.

We visited extraordinary Tortuguero National Park, which is a network of marshy islands. The best way to do it is by boat. Tortuguero means turtle catcher and the park is a protected wilderness area that shelters turtles, including endengered species of turtles.

We took a morning canoe tour in Tortuguero Rainforest

In the afternoon, we took a walk along “jaguar trail”. It follows a forest route along the beach, where you can spot turtles as well, including protected green turles.

Moved to Sarapiqui, a town in northeastern region of the contry. It's a popular tourist destination mainly among the adventure lovers and also for wildlife of the area.

We booked a rafting ride on Sarapiqui River, adrenaline experience with gorgeous landscape.

Then we visited Catarata del Toro, the biggest waterfall in Costa Rica.

And Blue Falls, another very beautiful waterfall.

At the end of the day, we arrived in La Fortuna town.

After exploring La Fortuna town a bit, we headed to beautiful Arenal National Park.

Arenal Volcano offers a super spectacular view. It's one of Costa Rica’s five active volcanoes. Thought to be dormant, the volcano awoke unexpectedly in 1968. Beside the volcano, the park has hiking trails through the forest and former lava fields.

Travel to Santa Teresa, nice beach village that was initially a fishing village. Now it becomes popular among tourists especially for its wild beautiful beaches and surf conditions.

Spent the whole day on the beaches of Santa Teresa, relaxing in a beautiful environment.

Wonderful Costa Rica Trip

It was an old dream to visit colourful Cuba. Finally it was coming true. It's a mesmerising part of the world with its retro style and fine people

For the first short day, we walked around the streets and small side streets, looked at the people and gazed at the colourful houses.

Visited Havana Cathedral in Plaza de la Catedral

and Royal Force Castle, the oldest stone fort in the Americas.

Walked on Havana’s Malecòn, promenade. Watched a beautiful sunset here.

We left Havana to explore some other parts of the country.

We headed to Varadero, the popular beach resort. Spent the day on the beautiful beaches of Varadero.

From crowded Varadero, we headed to Vinales, UNESCO World Heritage town with magnificent landscape.

We had arranged a guided tour of tobacco farms in the area.

Then headed a bit north, to Cueva del Indio, which is an absolutelly extraordinary cave. There's a beautiful walking trail that takes the visitors through the caves, but the most spectacular part is the boat ride along the subterranean river.

In the evening, we enjoyed live performances at Centro Cultural In Vinales.

Cuevas de Santo Tomas is another very beautiful cave. It's actually very long, some 46 km, but only one km is open to public.

Explored Vinales Valley. From Balcon de Valle Restaurant, there's a beautiful view over the valley.

Stopped at 3J Bar. We had had tapas and mojito. ;)

Today we drove from Vinales to "Bahia de cochinos". We aimed to explore the beautiful beaches in the area.

And visited Cave of fishes, a deep natural pool with tropical fish. It's a spot where you can try snorkeling or diving.

We drove further, to Trinidad, in Central Cuba. It's a beautifully preserved Spanish colonial settlement.  Best way to explore the town was to get lost on the streets, admire the architecture and stop every now and then for cold beer or mojito.

Todat we rented some bikes and headed to the beach.

Headed to the beach, Playa Ancoá. Stayed here most of the day relaxing on the sand, swimming and watching the sea.

Spent the afternoon at the beach, at Playa de la Boca.
