One Day in Sofia
Day 1
Sofia, Bulgaria
Sofia, Bulgaria's capital, is a city with a lot of history, delicious cuisine and nice landscapes due to its location close to the mountains. It's a cheap destination and not packed with tourists, so it's worth going at least for a day or part of a longer holiday in Bulgaria or Balkans.
Rainbow Factory, Bulgaria
Every morning starts with breakfast, so this one was not different. I stopped for breakfast at Rainbow Factory. I had good avocado toast and eggs, but they also serve traditional Bulgarian breakfast, next time I;ll try some..
Sofia History Museum, Bulgaria
I then paid a visit to Sofia History Museum, housed in former mineral baths. It's actually a beautiful building, with red and yellow Neo-Byzantine architecture. The exhibits of the museum takes the visitors through Bulgarian long history.

I then paid a visit to The Presidential Palace in Sofia. It's an impressive building from 1950. During the daytime you can watch the changing of guards happening onece an hour.
Q-ftetaria, Bulgaria
I stopped for lunch at Q-ftetaria. They serve menus based on meatballs. If you like meat, it's a good place to eat.

St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world.
bulevard "Vitosha", Bulgaria
I took a stroll along Vitosha Boulevard, the main commercial street in the heart of Sofia, filled with many stores, restaurants and cafes.

National Palace of Culture is one of the most emblematic buildings of Soviet architecture in Sofia. Today it serves as exhibition centre.
Shtastlivetsa, Bulgaria
I ended my day in Sofia with a dinner at Shtastliveca, which means The Lucky One. It has a nice atmosphere and delicious Bulgarian food.
