Podgorica
Day 1
Podgorica, Montenegro
Podgorica, Montenegro capital, is among the smallest European capitals. That means it's pretty easy to visit it in one day. It was destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt afterwards. Now it's a nice city with remains of socialist era, but also with new fine cafes, galleries and parks.
Soba, Montenegro
We started our day in Podgorica with a coffee at Cafe Soba, on Bokeška street, a nice place on a fine streets in the city center.
King's Park, Montenegro
We then had a walk in King's Park, the green nice park in the center and made our way towards the river banks.
Old Ribnica River Bridge, Montenegro
One of the few remaining old monuments in the city is the Old Bridge, built during Roman times. It's a nice stone bridge over Ribnica River, close to its confluence point with Morača River.
Milenium Bridge, Montenegro
We also visited Millennium Bridge over Morača River. It's an impressive modern bridge.
Moscow Bridge, Montenegro
Another nice bridge over Moraca River is Moscow Bridge. It seems that Moscow offered this bridge as a gift to the people of Montenegro. It's a pedestrian bridge with a nice view over the city and the mountains nearby.
Hotel Podgorica, Montenegro
We had a drink at Hotel Podgorica terrace, where we enjoyed a nice view over the river and the bridges.
Independence Square, Montenegro
We visited the main square of the city, Trg Nezavisnosti. It'a nice place where you can observe the locals and the urban vibe.
Pod Volat, Montenegro
We finished the day in Podgorica with dinner at Pod Volat restaurant.
