Two Days in Rome
Day 1
Rome, Italy
Probably one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Rome has plenty to offer to visitors coming from all over the world. I was in Rome for two days and already fell in love with the place.
Colosseum, Italy
I started my tour around Rome with one of the most iconic landmarks of the city, Colosseum, the fabulous Roman amphitheater. It's better to book tickets in advance in order to skip the long line.
Roman Forum, Italy
I continued with the impressive Roman Forum, not far from the Colosseum. While strolling through the remains of the buildings and avenues, it's hard not to try to imagine how the lives of Romans looked like in those anciant days.
Palatine Hill, Italy
While at the Roman Forum, I climbed the Palatine Hill, it's an easy climb at the end of which there are great views of the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and the city of Rome. You can even see as far as St. Peter’s Basilica in the distance.
Trevi Fountain, Italy
Another landmark of Rome is Trevi Fountain, in the city center. It's a very beautiful monument, a rococo fountain with sculpted figures. They say you have to throw a coin in the fountain for good luck.
Piazza di Trevi, Italy
Near Trevi Fountain, In Trevi Square, there's a famous place where you can buy absolutely delicious ice cream. So many flavours you can choose from.
Galleria Sciarra, Italy
Galleria Sciarra is a beautiful courtyard and a place you can escape for a while the many tourists in Rome. You can admire Art Nouveau frescoes painted by Giuseppe Cellini in 19th century.
Spanish Steps, Italy
I walked towards the famous Spanish Steps, which connect Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinita dei Monti at the top.
Piazza del Popolo, Italy
I ended the day in Piazza del Popolo, one of the prettiest piazzas in Rome. I also climbed Pincio Terrace there in Piazza del Popolo, it's a beautiful view of the piazza and Rome from above.
Day 2
Vatican Museums, Vatican City
I started my second day in Rome with Vatican City and Vatican Museums. You have to book in advance to skip the long lines there. It's an impressive visit, I enjoyed especially St Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel.
Castel Sant'Angelo, Italy
Castel Sant'Angelo is an impressive nearly 2000 years old mausoleum
St. Angelo Bridge, Italy
We crossed the St. Angelo Bridge over River Tiber, a beautiful spot on the Italian city.
Centro Storico, Italy
And made my way towards Centro Storico, the historic center of Rome, one of Rome’s prettiest neighborhoods
Campo de' Fiori, Italy
I ended my visit in the eternal city in Campo de’ Fiori Square, filled with markets and terraces where you can enjoy some of the best local dishes.
