Amorgos Island in Greece

Flight to Athens.

Looong boat ride to Amorgos from Piraeus, Athens, but we really enjoy boat rides, so that was part of the plan. :)

We explored Katapola. It's one of the largest natural harbours in the Aegean Sea, build around a sandy beach on the bay. The village houses are beautiful and the white basilica sits among these houses.

Hiking to "Ancient Minoa", remains of an ancient Minoan settlement. Beautiful view from there.

Tried some local food in Katapola, delicious.

Today we explored Chora, the capital of the island. Very beautiful village of the island with traditional houses and alleys.

Stopped for a coffee at Jazzmin. Nice views from there.

Hiked to stunning Monastery of Hozoviotissa, 11th century monastery with a dramatic cliffside location and beautiful views of the Aegean Sea.

Checked the wonderful beach of Aghia Anna.

Back to Katapola.

Went to visit the shipwreck, the remains of an abandoned ship and a picturesque view from there.

Visited beautiful Aghia Paraskevi Church.
