One Day in Warsaw
Day 1
Warsaw, Poland
Warsaw is a reborn city as it was completely destroyed in the Second World War. I was there for one full day and I was pretty impressed by the Polish capital.
Łazienki Park, Poland
I satrted my day in Lazienki Park in the city center, which is the largest city in Warsaw. Built in 1600s, it initially served as a bath park. I walked on its green alleys, spotted some squirrels playing around and admired the park’s amphitheater.
Palace on the Isle, Poland
I paid a visit to Palace on the Isle, also on Łazienki Park, situated in the middle of a small lake. Initially a bathhouse pavilion, was later the king’s summer palace, now it serves as museum of royal art.
Palace of Culture and Science, Poland
On my way to the city center, I walked by Palace of Culture and Science building, a masterpiece of Soviet architecture. The tower is the tallest building in the country and it offers panoramic views over the city.
Warsaw Uprising Museum, Poland
I paid a visit to Warsaw Uprising Museum, one of the most popular museums in Poland, that documents the history of Warsaw Uprising of 1944, the major (eventually failed) Polish underground resistance.
Warsaw Old Town, Poland
I got to the city's old town, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. I walked on the cobblestone alleys and admired the medieval buildings reconstructed after Second World War.
Old Town Market Square, Poland
Beautiful medieval square with a famous mermaid statue, also destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt after Second World War.
Podwale 25 Kompania Piwna, Poland
I ended my day in Warsaw with good traditional food at Podwale 25 restaurant, near the old center.
