Summer Day at Lake Bohinj, Slovenia

Lake Bohinj is the largest lake of Slovenia, an attraction for sport lovers, but also for tourists for its beauty and many activities one can do around it. We visited the lake on a lovely summer day.

Our first stop was at Ribčev Laz to visit the information centre there. We were already facing the beautiful mountainous landscape from there.

We then drove towards the our first activity of the day. We parked the car and prepared for a short hike in the mountains.

We started our hike towards Savica Waterfall. It's an easy walk on cobbled paths. The waterfall is very beautiful and from there we could admire some wonderful mountain landscapes.

Our next stop was at Vogel Ski Resort. It's a beautiful mountain resort in Triglav National Park, across the Julian Alps. We took the cable car to the top of the mountain. The ride offers spectacular view over the lake and the mountains.

We had lunch on top of the mountain at the ski resort terrace. So wonderful to enjoy a good meal and at the same time amazing landscapes in the mountain fresh air.

After lunch and after coming down from the top of the mountain, we stopped by the lake, had a nice walk along it and stopped at the beach for a while. The water in the lake had good temperature for swimming. Along the lake there are several green areas for activities like volleyball and others.

We stopped to visit St. John the Baptist Church at the lake's end. There are nice panoramic views from the nearby bridge over the lake and the church.

Before leaving the area we visited Stara Fuzina village with its nice typical Slovenian houses.
