Day 1

1

Larnaca, Cyprus

The island of Cyprus is a beautiful destination, especially in summer. Because of its location on the coast, the capital Larnaca is a resort town, with a relaxed feel. I was in Larnaca for one day and I can tell there's enough to explore its main attractions.

2

Church of Saint Lazarus, Cyprus

The Church of Saint Lazarus is one of the most popular places in Larnaca. Dating from 9th century and restored in 17th century, the church is very well preserved and has some stunning interiors. This is the site where Saint Lazarus is said to have been buried when he died.

3

Старый Турецкий Квартал Скала, Cyprus

Skala, Old Turkish Quarter of Larnaca, is a small beautiful area with old-fashioned, white-washed houses.

4

Djami Kebir Mosque, Cyprus

Still in the Old Turkish Quarter, we visited Djami Kebir Mosque, the pretty mosque that it's said to be the first Ottoman mosque in Cyprus, converted from a Catholic church in the 16th century.

5

Larnaca Castle, Cyprus

Right on city's waterfront, Larnaca Castle is a seaside fortress built by the Ottomans in 1625. Later it was transformed in a prison by the British rule and now serves as the city’s Medieval Museum.

6

Finikoudes Beach, Cyprus

Definitelly, in the afternoon I took time to just relax at the beach.
