Day 1

1

Kotor, Montenegro

We had a day to explore beautiful Kotor town sitting on a fine bay along the Adriatic Sea, in Montenegro. It's a destination that attracts more and more tourists, but that's no wonder as the region is really charming with the sea and the mountains both at the same place.

2

Kotor Old Town, Montenegro

Kotor Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It contains some very good preserved 17th century buildings from Venetian era and wonderful medieval bastions and walls.

3

Clock Tower, Montenegro

After exploring the streets of the old town of Kotor, we arrived in the beautiful Old Town Square with many restaurants, cafes, beautiful sites and buildings and a magnificent Clock Tower.

4

Kotor Cats Museum, Montenegro

This is the funny attraction I was not expecting to find. The Cats Museum was created due to Kotor’s large population of cats, for cat lovers.

5

Katedrala Svetog Tripuna - Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, Montenegro

Kotor Cathedral is, of course, the most significant church in the town. It'a Catholic church built in 1166, housing many impressive gold and silver frescoes.

6

Kotor Fortress, Montenegro

The highlight of Kotor trip is the Kotor Fortress situated on the mountainside and the long hike along the city walls that arrive at the fortress. There's the perfect view of the town and bay below from there.

7

Our Lady of the Rocks, Montenegro

After visiting the fortress, we took a boat ride towards a small island on the Bay of Kotor. We visited the beautiful Roman Catholic Church on the man made island, but the main reason for this visit was the views over the Bay of Kotor from there.

8

Kotor beach, Montenegro

When we returned, we spent some time on Kotor Beach to relax after visiting all day.
