One Day in Šibenik
Day 1
Šibenik, Croatia
Located between more famous Split and Zadar, the town of Šibenik is a picturesque city on Croatia's Adriatic coast. We chose to spend a day here as, being less popular than other coastal towns, we expected to find less tourists as well.
Cathedral of St. Jakov, Croatia
We arrived in the city and our first stop was at St. James’ Cathedral. The beautiful white-stone basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 15th century, it's the most important Renaissance architectural monument in Croatia.
Old Town Residence, Croatia
After visiting the cathedral, we took a nice walk on the Old Town of the city, admiring the beautiful medieval buildings. We got lost on the stone streets filled with lots of cafes and restaurants.
SHE Bio Bistro, Atelier, Rooftop Bar, Croatia
We stopped at this wonderful place in town where we had a delicious healthy late breakfast. There are some nice views from the rofftop bar, as well.
City Library "Juraj Šižgorić" Šibenik, Croatia
We continued our walk after we rested at the relaxing terrace and came across this fine modern architecture building housing the City Library.
Šibenik, Croatia
We headed to sea and had a nice walk along the sea promenade.
Azimut, Croatia
We had some refreshment at Azimut bar, in the shade of the trees. This one too is a cool place with nice interior as well.
Srednjovjekovni samostanski mediteranski vrt Sv. Lovre, Croatia
We checked this nice small garden surrounded by buildings of the Old Town. There's also a cafeteria right over there.
St. Michael's Fortress, Croatia
We visited St. Michael’s Fortress, one of the 4 fortresses of the town. St. Michael’s Fortress has been fully restored and now it hosts exhibits and open air events. There are beautiful views over the city and the sea from there.
Banj Beach, Croatia
We spent the last part of the day at the beach, relaxing.
