Day 1
Vienna, Austria
Vienna is one of Europe's most fascinating cities. It's known for its music legacy, its stunning palaces, for being an art hub and also for its extensive Christmas Market. However, Vienna is a year-round destination. We were in Vienna for one day in July.
Belvedere Palace, Austria
We started our day with a visit at famous Belvedere Palace, situated within a walking distance from the city center. The beautiful complex includes two palaces, Upper and Lower Belvedere, vast gardens and an orangery. It was built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy. From Upper Belvedere, there's a nice view over Vienna'scityscape. Belvedere Museum displays Austrian fine art from the Middle Ages to contemporary art, with a nice Klimt collection.
Karlsplatz, Austria
After exploring Belvedere, we walked towards Karlsplatz. We visited Karlskirche, an impressive baroque church with a large pool in front of it, and also the former Karlsplatz station designed by the famous architect Otto Wagner.
Naschmarkt, Austria
It's a famous huge Viennese market offering pretty much everything you can think of, from fresh fruit and vegetables to baked products and cheese and souvenirs. The market is an old Viennese tradition starting in the 16th century.
Ringstrasse Galleries, Austria
We took the yellow Vienna Ringtram that goes along the historical boulevard, Ringstrasse, so we could admire from the tram some historical buildings and landmarks in Vienna, like Vienna Town Hall, National Opera, Natural History Museum and the Hofburg Palace
Vienna Old Town Apartments, Austria
We then took a walk in Vienna’s Old Town. We visited St. Stephen’s Cathedral, one of the most famous landmarks of Vienna, St. Peter’s Baroque Church and Sisi Museum. While walking on Vienna's Old Town streets, we tried the very famous Viennese sausage from one of the many street stalls. Super delicious.
BRASSERIE PALMENHAUS Wien, Austria
Then we stopped to enjoy a coffee in Palmenhaus at the Burggarten coffee house. It's a beautiful green area set inside the former Emperor’s glasshouse.
Neubau, Austria
We also visited this new cool neighbourhood, NeuBau, a vibrant area packed with trendy cafes, cool boutiques, art galleries and museums. We paid a visit to MuseumQuarter, a large museum complex that houses Vienna’s top museums.

We had dinner at Centimeter, where we enjoyed some big Wiener schnitzels.
